“Japanese and Western styles”

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hotel Dear Dog is a special type of hotel where guests can stay in the same room with their pets.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this case, the client had a very clear vision of what kind of space they wanted.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– To create a space with a futon (Japanese-style bedding), so that guests are able to relax by sitting on the floor (Japanese lifestyle).
– To create a space with a sofa and table, so that guests are able to relax by sitting on the sofa (Western lifestyle).
– To create an “extraordinary” space as it is a hotel.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of meeting client’s requests, the space naturally became a combination of Japanese and Western styles.

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I also did is to displace the spatial structure and material structure of the two cultures in 90 degrees in order to give the room an “extraordinary” atmosphere.
